    I need a little more information.  I just reviewed the live-dedup
    disablement commit and it isn't just a default... it disables the
    feature and the sysctl is made read-only so it can't be turned on
    by the user.

    It should not have been possible for you to turn on live-dedup in
    a recent development kernel.
