DBSD on Hp mini
All,
This is my feedback with DragonFlyBSD on an HP-mini:
- Atom N455
- AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter
- RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller
- N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio Controller
- Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated Graphics Controller
I've not yet tested the sound and webcam.
short: DBSD rocks except that wifi cpu grows to 100%
details:
----------
With Dbsd-3.0.2 I was not able to have my realtek network driver.
Despite the wifi was well recognized. I was expecting the opposite :-)
By installing the development version ( 21/07/2012), realtek driver
was well recognized (great).
As said in a previous topic, powerd is well working (not cpu heat, ...).
Screen driver (intel) is not recognized by xorg, but we know why
(developed mainly for Linux).
But with the Vesa driver I'm able to install Xfce-4.6 via pkgin.
I've even be able to compile and run without problem Xfce-4.10 :-).
Sata disk and usb storages are working as they should.
I'm thus quite satisfied with DragonFlyBSD.
The touchpad is working, but not the vertical scroll. If I'm right,
this feature is not yet implemented.
Thus touchpad is working as it should.
But I still have one small issue with the wifi :-(.
After 10 or 15 minutes of connection, the dhclient start to use 100%
of the CPU.
This sounds to be linked to the Atheros driver wants with the cable,
I've not such issues at all.
I don't know which type of info could help to solve this issue, so I
post here the dmesg info I receive when I load (kldload
/boot/kernel/if_ath.ko) it in verbose mode (boot option "v"):
