This dell laptop (latitude d820) now boots v2.9.1.1044.gf7a1ba
GENERIC_SMP with:

  hw.apic_io_enable=1
  debug.acpi.enabled="pci pci_link"

And this time no problems with bge0 timeout reset cycle.

And no usb related crash with the cd drive connected.
