If it's functioning on at least one BSD flavor, it should be possible to
bring it to others.  At least, it would be easier than it is now, with it
not complete on any of the BSDs.  I say this knowing I'm not the one who
would perform the port, of course...

I would love to have Java support on DragonFly, and I think it would be
even better for BSD in general if it was supported on every BSD 'type'.
