So does portupgrade work pretty much ok with DFly?

I know there were issues with 'make index' that looked like they were fixed
and committed, but I've been trying not to break any ports on my system by
attempting upgrades that won't work.

If portupgrade works, I'd like to move to XFree86 4.4, or is that not
working yet?
