fwiw I'm slowly working on an update here to pull in changes from 
openbsd to support the eee901's 2860 chip -

nothing is quite building yet,
just thought I'd mention it to save anyone extra time in case anyone 
decides on a similar mini project.

hopefully I'll get it in in the 2.9 dev cycle. fingers crossed :)
