Interesting, but -

Both are 'extensions' to (another) kernel, which seems counterproductive 
/ limiting given the critical nature of such things if they are to be 
done fast and reliably.

Hopefully, with DragonFlyBSD critical items of this general type will be 
very much built-in's.
