Some more nits:

I had to manually install rc.subr and network.subr in /etc since
mergemaster wasn't picking them up.

Furthermore:

During kernel boot.

Furthermore I also receive the /var/run/dev.db message a couple of times
during booting.

Other than that, it hasn't broken anything like X yet. :)
