I don't know how it works with Debian, I only use > it for like a week long time ago. oh please, people, stop talking about debian. it has always been a PITA to me. most packages pull in as many dependencies as available with the result that simple sylpheed will take about 50MB or such (don't nail me down on that, but you get the idea) whereas i don't want a spell checker or PALM connection at all. better look at gentoo's portage! it's USE flags are a very good idea. you always need to weight configurability vs space vs compile load. i'd go for something easy configurable as portage's USE stuff plus some default options selecting the packages being built. don't ask me for details yet but i don't think that's hard to establish. but, please, stop talking about debian. it might look easy to use but it's hard to administer. cheers simon -- /"\ http://corecode.ath.cx/#donate \ / \ ASCII Ribbon Campaign / \ Against HTML Mail and News
