    Simon, considering how efficient git is dealing with incremental
    updates I think you can safely pull from crater every 5 minutes.

    Any git mirrors can do that, in fact.

    BUT, I do have one requirement, and that is people keeping mirrors
    synced should use the /usr/bin/lockf utility with -k -t 0 to prevent
    updates from stacking on each other recursively on those occassions
    where large commits are made.
