It's a direct merge from FreeBSD. I've been doing this before splitting
of parts of the file to prevent having to spread the advertisement
clause further.

I take it for granted that FreeBSD's core did get the approval from the
various members which contributed substantial changes. At the very least
we can point to FreeBSD if someone complains about infrigment of his
copyright.

For changes from DragonFly members, I want to remind you to the mail I
sent last year (?), asking all contributors to explicitly agree with the
possible removal of the UCB advertisement.
