    Yah, it probes all the ports in parallel.  Makes a big difference on
    modern motherboards which have tons of sata ports.  I could make it
    even faster, there are some delays at the end that could be removed,
    but I'm not going to worry about it atm.  The probe code is fairly
    sensitive due to device variations.
