"bus" or "children" disables "cpu", so it must be "cpu" :)

A-ha, I think there's a relavant information WRT your mainboard:

Can you try attached patch and set the variable "debug.acpi.cpu.nocst"
in the boot loader? Also if you have time, can you try recent FreeBSD
and if it boots OK.
