I cvsup'd again just now and nothing came across, so the problem exists in
the very latest code.

I also backed out to if_vr.c,v 1.10 and if_vrreg.h,v 1.2 and everything
works normally again.  I guess Richard and I don't have the same vr chips
you were addressing these changes to?
