So a little more poking reveals the following showing up in dmesg:

error: module compiled without SMP support
netsmb_dev: unloaded
module_register_init: MOD_LOAD (dev_netsmb, ddc6a134, 0) error 1
error: module compiled without SMP support

Could this be the cause of my current problems?

Adam
